Our Standard Abrasives™ Quick Change Ceramic 2-Ply Disc is a multi-purpose disc designed to tackle many phases of a project, from stock removal to cleaning and finishing. Full ceramic grain cuts cooler and achieves a fast cut under heavy pressure. This disc is well-suited for use on stainless steel and high nickel alloys, and the quick change attachment enables secure use at high speeds.
Spanning Many Industries
From aircraft maintenance to automotive repair to agricultural equipment manufacturing, our Standard Abrasives™ Ceramic Disc spans industries; its versatile uses are applicable to most trades. For example, Standard Abrasives™ Ceramic Disc’s durability makes it a good match for heavy deburring and removal of weld spatter, parting lines and die cast flash. Moreover, the tough, sharp ceramic mineral that coats the abrasive is great for removing corrosion, paint coatings, gaskets, adhesives and rust from metal surfaces.
Durable, Stiff, Won’t Deflect
One of the key reasons Standard Abrasives™ Ceramic Disc is so versatile is because it comes in a range of grades. Users typically opt for a smoother grade during cleaning and finishing; they choose rougher grades for tough applications like blending and deburring. All ceramic discs have a Y weight backing – one of the most durable cloth backings. Heavy and stiff, the backing helps the abrasive stand up to heavy stock removal. One of the reasons the disc works so well on flat surfaces is because the backing will not yield to or deflect on the substrate. These discs are 2 ply or “double thickness,” falling right between single and triple ply abrasives. The extra thickness adds rigidity and durability without totally compromising abrasive flexibility.
Rapid Stock Removal with Ceramic Abrasive Grain
Our Standard Abrasives™ Quick Change Ceramic 2-Ply Disc is constructed with ceramic abrasive for rapid stock removal on high-pressure applications. Ceramic abrasives are engineered with high levels of hardness and strength so they can cut fast and handle intense heat and stress applications. They perform best under high pressure. Our cer
