3M™ Stikit™ Film Disc Roll 261L discs feature an open coat aluminum oxide abrasive on a flexible, water-resistant film backing for orbital sanding applications on a wide variety of woods. Convenient Stikit™ discs are ideal for high volume, quick-change operations.
Film-backed Discs Resist Tearing
3M™ Stikit™ Film Disc Roll discs deliver outstanding tear resistance, flexibility and a consistent, uniform finish on MDF, whitewood, softwood, particle board and hardwoods. Premium aluminum oxide abrasive grain offers a fast cut-rate and extended product life for greater productivity.
This disc comes in a range of grades in 5 or 6-inch diameters for sanding and finishing, and its open coat construction makes it a good choice for woodworking and other applications where loading hinders performance.
Loading occurs when wood or paint dust clogs the surface of the disc and the abrasive points, which can quickly make the disc ineffective. Open coat construction means the abrasive grains are spaced so that dust and debris can collect in the spaces rather than loading the disc. Additionally, the open coat feature provides a more aggressive cut than a comparable closed coat abrasive of the same grade, for faster results.
Our Stikit™ discs come ready to use with a pressure sensitive adhesive coating on the back that mounts on a 3M™ Stikit™ Disc Pad (sold separately) on a random orbital sander. Pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) discs offer a high-strength adhesive attachment system, making them a good choice for high heat and severe disc sanding applications.
