3M™ Hot Melt Adhesive 3798 LM is a low melt adhesive that sticks quickly and removes easily, making it ideal for attaching business cards, coupons, inserts, credit cards, and samples common in brochures and mailing applications. Adhesive is tack free, solvent free and removes easily.

Designed for Use on Heat Sensitive Substrates 3M™ Hot Melt Adhesive 3798 LM is specifically designed with 100% solid thermoplastic resins. This low melt application releases at 120ºF/49ºC, a temperature low enough to bond to paper and most plastics as well as a wide variety of other substrates, including most coated surfaces. This adhesive cools, hardens, and bonds within seconds and reaches strength without clamping, allowing for quick and repeated application where needed while saving time and energy by eliminating undue processes. Adhesive 3798 LM is the ONLY removable low temperature hot melt available for temporary attachment of credit cards, coupons, inserts and samples. Sticks measure 5/8" X 2" (15.9mm x 5.1cm). Understanding Hot Melt Adhesives Hot melt adhesives, also known as glue sticks, are liquefied thermoplastic adhesives available in both low and high-temperature versions. Low temperature hot melt adhesives are applied at 250ºF/121ºC temperatures, which makes them ideal for bonding electronics, plastics, cloth and other heat sensitive materials. High temperature hot melt adhesives are applied at 380ºF/193ºC and produce a stronger bond than the low temperature hot melts. Melted adhesive is extruded through a nozzle using a 3M Hot Melt Applicator by either pneumatic pressure, a mechanical trigger mechanism, or with pressure applied directly on the stick. Different nozzles can be used to apply thin, wide strips or narrow, thicker beads. Hot melt adhesive generally sets quickly, ranging from a few seconds to a few minutes, depending on the adhesive formulation.
