Two Adhesives Work Together for a Secure Bond

3M™ Attachment Tape 4981 is a 0.20 mm thick, clear acrylic tape constructed with two different adhesives, specifically a heat activated adhesive on the non liner side and a pressure sensitive acrylic adhesive on the liner side. The heat activated adhesive forms an immediate, consistent and durable bond to most EPDM formulations and Santoprene^® materials. The pressure sensitive adhesive delivers high adhesion and holding strength to many surfaces, including automotive paints and metals. Tape comes with a polyethylene liner for easy one piece release for efficient application. Santoprene is a trademark of Exxon Mobil Corporation.

Specialty Purpose Tape for Weather Strip and Gasket Seals

This tape securely attaches weather strip and gasket seals for automotive and industrial applications. It is recommended for applications where the substrate surface is smooth and there is minimal stress on the bond line between the matching substrates. For applications in which tabbing is necessary, we recommend 3M™ Tabbing Tape 5400.
